bolts where the application involves severe impacts,
frequent stops, starts, reversals or when it exceeds
7.0% of the maximum tolerated torque.

5.3 Accessory installation instructions:

Motor Assembly:
- While assembling the motor onto the gear unit, the
coupling must be lubricated with a thin layer of grease
or with a no-grip lubricant.
- Carefully insert the motor shaft into the coupling and
make sure that the motor spigot perfectly matches
the gear unit spigot.
- After checking that the motor is properly centered,
tighten all the attachment bolts applying the torque
indicated in paragraph 9..3.
ATTENTION: when using aluminum and gray cast
iron motor flanges, the minimum allowable class for
the bolts is 5.8.; for nodular cast iron, the minimum
allowable class is 8..8..
NOTE: it is recommended to protect the hydraulic
motors and their connections so that they are not
damaged by rough ground during normal work
operations.

6. BRAKE CONNECTION

6,1 Wheel gear for tyred vehicles

All Brevini wheel gear units for tyred vehicles can be
supplied with or without a brake.
- The brake will vary, such as a shoe, negative multi-
disc or disc hydraulic type, according to the type of
wheel gear unit.
- RI gear units without brake.
- RF gear units with double mechanical/hydraulic
action shoe brake.
- RSF gear units without brake.
- RFL gear units with negative multi-disc hydraulic
brake.
- RFD gear units with hydraulic disc brake and ne-
gative multi-disk hydraulic brake.
- CWD RX gear units with negative multi-disc
hydraulic brake.

6.2 RF gear unit brake start-up:

Wheel gear unit equipped with a double-action shoe
brake: mechanical for parking brake and hydraulic
for service brake.

- Connect the
fittings of the
vehicle braking
system to all
wheel gear units
with these featu-
res installed on
the vehicle, at
the brake control
hole "A" (see
fig. No. 1) of tho-
se gear units.
NOTE: once this
operation has
been completed,
bleed the brakes
(remove air from
the braking sy-
stem), after adding oil to the vehicle braking system
(Brevini recommends oil DOT 3 - 4. SAE J 17.0 3).
Service brake bleeding operation
