ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF HANDLES
After the settings of needles and handles displayed on the previous page, down
the needles, turning manually the steering wheel. With fully downloaded ne-
edles, the measure M must be equal to 5 mm (fig.96). In case of divergence,
proceed as follows:
IMPORTANT!
There are several factors that interfere when you tie a knot, and, in some cases,
might require a different adjustment from the indicated above.
The 5mm measure indicated above is only a reference for the initial regulation.
If after regulating you observe that the knotter is not tying (is not knotting), it
is recommended that you perform some practical tests, as follows:
Stop the machine and change the measure M. Restart the operation and observe
the first bales. If necessary, repeat the test by altering again the measure M until
you obtain the ideal regulation, one that allows a quality knot.
To regulate the measure M, proceed as follows:
1- Loosen the two nuts F and turn the spindle R until the measure above.
2- Tighten the nuts.
NOTE: It might occur that the ideal measure M is not the same in the two pick-ups.
