O
PERATING MODE
There are four possible operating modes:
ON LINE
INTERRUPTION-FREE MODE: The load is supplied constantly by the CPS inverter (always supplied "AS" output). In
the event of power supply failure the battery provides power to the inverter, ensuring the required runtime with no
interruptions at all). This mode provides maximum protection for the load by making use of "dual conversion"
technology.
ECO MODE
WITH SWITCHING: The load is supplied via the CPS bypass line (always supplied"AS" output). In the event of power
supply failure the internal automatic device transfers the load to the inverter. The battery provides power to the inverter,
ensuring the required runtime.
This mode ensures increased efficiency; however, any interference in the mains power may affect the load. In the
event of mains power failure or power values out of tolerance, the CPS will switch to INTERRUPTION-FREE MODE.
Approximately five minutes after mains power returns within tolerance, the load is switched back to bypass.
EMERGENCY ONLY
WITH-SWITCHING MODE WITH ADDITIONAL MANOEUVERING DEVICE FOR CENTRAL LOAD TRANSFER: The
load is not supplied when mains power is available. If mains power is interrupted the CPS cuts in and supplies the load
from the inverter using the batteries, and then shuts down once again when mains power is restored (emergency only
"EO" output type)

WARNING: Maintenance inside the CPS must be carried out by qualified personnel trained by the
manufacturer only. In fact, inside the equipment there may be a voltage even when the input, output and
battery switches are open. Removal of the CPS panels by non-qualified personnel may cause harm to the
operator and damage to the equipment.
Listed below are the operations to be performed in order to carry out the maintenance on the equipment with no interruption of
the power supply to the load:
With the mains voltage present, the CPS must power the load through the inverter or the automatic bypass.
N.B.: If the CPS is in battery power mode, activating the maintenance bypass may imply an interruption of the power
supply to the load.
Close the maintenance bypass isolator (SWMB) located behind the door. This way, the input is short-circuited with the
output.
Open the input switches (SWIN), the output switches (SWOUT), and the battery fuse holders (SWBATT) located
behind the door. The signal panel is turned off. Wait for the electrolytic condensers on the power board to discharge
(about 20 minutes) and then proceed with the maintenance operations.
N.B.: During this phase, with the load powered via the maintenance bypass, any disturbance on the CPS power supply
line would affect the equipment powered (the load is connected directly to the mains. The CPS is no longer active).
Moreover, the auxiliary "EnergyShare" and "Aux Output" sockets, are no longer powered (see " Auxiliary
sockets (optional)" in the "USE" section).
Once these maintenance operations have been completed, perform the following operations to restart the CPS:
Close the input and output isolators and the battery fuse holders. The signal panel is reactivated. Turn the CPS on
again from the "SYSTEM ON" menu. Wait for the sequence to be completed.
Open the maintenance bypass: The CPS resumes normal operation.
