2.3.1 Electrical hazards

Any application other than or which extends beyond the intended
use is considered misuse.
WARNING!
Danger in the event of misuse!
Misuse of the linear unit can lead to hazardous situa-
tions.
Depending on whether an optional gear unit, a motor or an induc-
tive limit switch is used, the following applies:
DANGER!
Danger of death due to electric current!
There is an imminent danger of death in the event of
contact with live parts. Damage to the insulation or
individual components can be life-threatening.
Linear unit RK MonoLine R/RK MonoLine Z
Never use the linear unit and its components in
potentially explosive atmospheres.
Never use the linear unit in the food industry for
direct contact with unpackaged food.
Never use the linear unit in liquids.
Never use the linear unit outside of the specifica-
tions indicated in Chapter
data" on page 117.
Never convert or retrofit the linear unit or its com-
ponents to change the range of applications or the
usability.
Only have qualified electricians carry out work on
the electrical system.
If the insulation is damaged, switch off the power
supply immediately and arrange a repair.
Before commencing work on live parts of electrical
systems and equipment, establish and ensure the
voltage-free state for the duration of the work.
Never bridge or disable fuses. When replacing
fuses, adhere to the correct current specification.
Keep moisture away from live parts. Otherwise,
this can lead to a short-circuit.
