Improper lift rigging can allow unit to tumble causing injury and damage.
The hoisting devices mainly include crane and lift truck. See Figure 3-1 and 3-2.
3.2.1 Slinging
Slinging introductions are shown as below:
1) Attach the hoisting device slings to the lifting lugs on the generator set base frame
or mute cabinet.
2) Slowly tighten the slings and make sure that the slings are evenly attached and
strong enough.
3) Slowly hoist the generator set.
4) Move the set to the chosen site and place in position.
5) Bring it down slowly while maintaining it in the right position.
6) Loosen the slings, unhook and remove the shackles.
3.2.2 Forklift
The introductions of forklift lifting are shown as below:
1) Position the arms of the lift truck under the center of the generator set base
frame.
2) Lift and move the set slowly to the chosen site, making sure that the genset is in
balance on the fork.
3) Set down the generator set in its final position.
Do not use the engine lifting eyes or the generator lifting eyes to lift the entire set.
