The design of the distractors Rotterdam Midline and Bologna Midline is based on Hyrax
technology. The chance that food particles are caught in the apparatus is relatively low.
Patients should be advised to clean the device at least twice per day. We also recommend
regular consultation of an oral hygienist.
WARNING
Danger of system failure due to improper handling!
Improper handling (non-permitted adaptation) of the distraction system by the user can lead
to failure of the system and injury! Therefore, please note:
Never bend the distraction cylinder D or adapt it to bone contours!
To adapt the distractor to the anatomical conditions, it is necessary to adapt the
specially mounted osteosynthesis plates very carefully using two bending pliers
(item no. 25-516-13-07). Note that the connection between the osteosynthesis plate
and the distraction cylinder may never be bent or subjected to mechanical loads during
this process.
It is not permitted to kink the plates, bend them in the opposite direction (reverse
bending) or bend them in the hole areas.
When cutting the plates, take special care to prevent the cut-off part from flying in the
direction of patients, users or third persons.
