During unpacking, verify whether all parts have been supplied as per the schedule in section 4 above.
Fig. 1. After unfastening the catches (10), remove the filter cover (1) from the container (11). It can happen that the top
magazine (9) along with the sponge (24) and magazine cover (23) remains in the filter cover (1), but it can be easily re-
moved from there.
Fig. 2. From the container, remove one by one: magazine cover (23), magazines (9) along with filtration inserts (24÷28),
and – only in the case of FZKN filters without a UV sterilizer – the flow cover (12).
This subsection applies only in case of purchase of optional UV sterilizer or in the FZKN PLUS versions. First we will de-
scribe operations involved in mounting of an optionally purchased sterilizer in the FZKN filter – see figures 3÷6, and then
we will attach also a description of the FZKN PLUS models – figure 7.
During installation of a UV sterilizer in the FZKN filter, the filter container (11) must be empty [magazines with filtration
inserts and flow cover (12) are removed] and cleaned.
Fig. 3. From the inside of the filter container (11) remove the assembly (29, 30, 31 and 32), turning the ring (29) clockwise
(until a UV sterilizer is to be applied, these elements need not be removed at all). The opening in the bottom of the container
(11) released in this way should be cleaned. Remove the seal (30) from the reduction ring (29), remove the scale from it,
lubricate with Vaseline and insert in its groove on the UV sterilizer housing (41) [as shown in figure 5].
Fig. 4. Remove the fitting (44) from the UV sterilizer, turning its fitting grip clockwise, following the „OUT" arrow (The
quartz cover (42) should not be removed!).
Fig. 5. At the opposite end of the housing (41) remove the small stopper by screwing it out. It will not be needed in the
FZKN filter.
The flow cover (12) should be placed at a slight incline onto the sterilizer cover (41) next to the „A" stub – we show this
position with broken lines – and then, twisting according to the arrow, slid along further until it hangs freely in the middle
between two side stubs of this housing (this position is shown with solid lines on the left side of the drawing).
Fig. 6. Here we see the container (11) from the inside. In position „A", shown by broken lines, of the sterilizer stubs, placer the
housing (41) in the opening in the bottom of the container (11) and carefully press it in until refusal, and then secure it in
place by turning anticlockwise following the arrow, until position „B" shown on the drawing with solid lines. [To have a better
view of what you are doing, we recommend during this operation to lift the flow cover (12) slightly on the sterilizer housing (41)].
Then set the flow cover (12) back in its place, pressing it until refusal to the bottom of the filter container (11). In this posi-
tion it will secure the sterilizer housing against unintended removal. [Its other task is directing the filtered water to flow into
the sterilizer].
Verify tightness, pouring some water into the container (11). After this check, remove the water.
Fig. 7. Concerns the FZKN PLUS filter. Here we see the container (11) from the outside, from the bottom side. Remove the
fitting (44) from the filter, turning it clockwise following the „OUT" arrow. [The quartz cover (42) remains in position!].
[After performing the operations according to figures 3÷6 (FZKN filter) or figure 7 (FZKN PLUS filter), our filters are in identical
condition. Therefore the following description in this chapter is already a common one].
Press the fluorescent lamp (43) into the fitting (44) until locked.
CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of the fluorescent lamp, remove any possible finger marks with a moist cloth.
Gently place the fitting (44) along with the mounted fluorescent lamp (43) in the quartz cover (42) and screw it inside in
the opposite direction.
Preparation of the sterilizer in the FZKN filter is then complete. Its operation may be now checked, connecting it for a
moment to power supply. Through the opening in the end of the sterilizer housing – being now in the middle of the
container (11) – you will be able to see a glow, and on the plug stabilizer a lamp signaling operation of the fluorescent
lamp will come on.
NOTE: The UV sterilizer will operate only in the fully assembled condition according to the above description. The fluore-
scent lamp removed from the sterilizer housing (41) even in its fitting (44) and in the quarts cover (42) will not work!
