NOTES:
• Never stretch the main gasket (8)!
• The cover may not be disassembled any further (there is also no such need). Any unauthorized attempt to disassemble the
pumps block from the cover (1) entails loss of warranty. Performance of possible further repair actions not described in this
chapter should be entrusted to the manufacturer's service.
Fig. 27. On the top side of the cover (1), clean the socket of the control unit and – at the bottom of this socket – all open-
ings, including 2 inlet openings IN and 2 outlet openings OUT. When cleaning this socket, pay particular attention not to
damage the lateral cylindrical surface, because smooth surface is essential for ensuring proper tightness of the seal (20)
mounted on the control unit (16) – see e.g. figure 29. Also when cleaning the OUT openings caution is required in order
not to damage the canals leading from the OUT openings to the pumps.
CAUTION: Do not scrape! For cleaning, use only a soft brush or cloth and lukewarm water with a mild cleaning agent
without detergents. When finished cleaning, be sure to rinse in clean water.
Assemble the pumps in reverse order.
NOTE: After mounting of rotors (3) on the axles, they should rotate without any resistance.
Place the top magazine (9) along with the sponge (24) and cover (23) into the recess of the cover (1) (see figure 11), and
then close the filter according to the description at the end of section 5.3.
Return with the filter to the aquarium, and replace the control unit (16) – which during maintenance was hanging on
the edge of the aquarium along with the inlet/outlet installations – into its place in the cover (1), in reverse order than
described at figure 21.
If any difficulties possibly arise with reassembling these elements, we recommend reading the following section 7.4 and
taking a look at figures 28 and 29, where this operation is described in greater detail.
In place of the normal outlet system, mount a temporary layout of outlet elements according to figure 15.
For the purpose of launching the filter, perform the operations described in chapter 6.

7.4. Maintenance of the control unit and inlet/outlet systems

Checking and cleaning of the inlet/outlet systems and the control unit (16) is not necessary in each maintenance cycle.
However, when these elements are visibly soiled, they should be cleaned under maintenance of the filter.
Following removal of the clamp bolts (33) – see figures 13, 14 and 20 – remove the inlet and outlet systems from the
water, and this entire assembly, disconnected from the filter according to the description at figure 21, should be placed in
a larger vessel and moved to a location where it will be possible to wash the entire assembly without exposing surround-
ings to splashing. Remove hoses from the control unit (16), and disassemble the water inlet and outlet ends (shown in
figures 14 and 20), and subsequently wash all elements under running water.
NOTES:
• Do not disassemble the control unit (16). There is no such need. In order to clean the inlet and outlet canals proceed in line
with the descriptions at figures 28 and 29.
• The „M" fragment is a part of the valve of the launch pump „P" – see figure 18. This unit should not be disassembled for
cleaning, and nothing should be put in the „M" opening.
Fig. 28-29. The bottom part of the control unit (16) has a rotating disc „T" with four openings. In the position shown in
figure 28 these openings are blind, there is no passage. This is the position for disconnection of the control unit from
the filter cover (1) according to figure 21. A characteristic feature of this position is that the cut „E" of the disc „T" is exactly
above the cut „D" of the control unit body (16).
With the use of soft and insulated tips of e.g. pliers handles, inserted into to openings „V", turn the disc „T" in any direction
by 45° into the position where passages of inlets and outlets are open. Such an open condition is shown in figure 29. It is
visible that in this position the cut „E" of the disc „T" is removed from the cut „D" of the body.
NOTE: When performing this operation, you should exercise care (in order not to damage anything), and at once pro-
ceed vigorously (since the disc „T" revolves with resistance).
In such position of the disc „T" it is possible to clean the entire inlet/outlet system under running water, even without
disconnecting elastic conduits (18), or having removed them, which is recommended [Such condition is shown in the
figures].
