of spitting back towards the nozzle, thus protecting the operator against
sparks and increasing the life of the nozzle.
- Hold the torch facing away from your body and bring it slowly into
vertical position. (This is important when cutting thin pieces). Ensure
that the torch is pointed away from you and from anyone else in the
vicinity, to avoid damage caused by sparks of molten metal.
- When the hole has been completed, carry on with cutting.
COMMON MALFUNCTIONS DURING CUTTING:
The piece is not completely perforated.
The causes may be:
- The current is too low.
- The cutting speed is too fast.
- The torch components are worn.
- The piece to be cut is too thick.
Presence of waste material on the bottom of the cut.
The causes may be:
- The cutting speed is too slow.
- The torch components are worn.
- The current is too high.
AIR PRESSURE
An air flow of 135 I/min must be available at a minimum pressure of 4.3
bar. If the pressure is less than 3,5 bar it will have a detrimental effect
on striking and on cutting quality. DO NOT EXCEED 6 bar. The air filter
supports a pressure of 10 bar and it may explode if a greater pressure
is applied.
OVERHEATING OF THE TORCH:
After several minutes of cutting, the torch cap may become hot. To cool
it, press the TEST GAS button until the cap temperature falls to
acceptable values.
6.4– CUTTING IN AUTOMATIC MODE
- Turn the switch (7) to automatic position
- Make the cut, when you come out of the piece the arc switches off and
