Connecting the bus coupler as an
intermediate station
1.
If you do not use pre-assembled wiring, connect the
plugs according to Table 5/Tab. 6 on page 77.
2.
Connect the incoming bus connection to X71 (1).
3.
Connect the outgoing bus cable with the next module
using the X72 output (2).
4.
Connect the shield on both sides of the bus cable
directly to the plug housing (EMC housing) if non-
pre-assembled cables and plugs with metal housing
are used. This protects data lines from terminal
interference.
Ensure that the plug housing is securely fitted to the
bus coupler housing.

Connecting the bus coupler as a
final station
1.
If you do not use pre-assembled wiring, connect the
plugs according to Tab. 5/Tab. 6 on page 77.
2.
Connect the incoming bus connection to X71 (1).
3.
Cover the X 72 (BUS OUT) socket with a CANopen end
plug (see chapter "Spare parts and accessories" on
page 97).
4.
Connect the shield on both sides of the bus cable
directly to the plug housing (EMC housing), if non-
pre-assembled cables and plugs with metal housing
are used. This protects data lines from terminal
interference.
Ensure that the plug housing is securely fitted to the
bus coupler housing.
A potential equalization line of at least 10 mm
between the devices to avoid compensating currents
from flowing over the shield of the bus coupler.
