PPE Model: cod. 121054 - mod. FALLSTOP
PPE FEATURES
The guided-type fall arrester device is a PPE against falls and it complies with EN 353-2 standard.
It could be used only with ropes of diameter 12 mm.
The fall arrester can be used by only one person at a time.
The guided anti-fall device is not only suited to be used vertically, but it can also be used
horizontally when there is a risk of falling over the edge.
The device was tested according to European Sheet no. CNB/P/11.075 for use on the
horizontal plane on steel profiles with a radius r = 0.5 mm, without sharp edges or burrs.
Therefore the device can be used on different types of edges: laminated steel profiles,
wooden or coated beams, rounded railings on the roof.
PPE DESCRIPTION
- Working rope ( 12 mm Kernmantel polyamide). The rope is ended with sewn loop
equipped with thimble from a top ending, and with a final sewn loop, from a bottom ending.
- Rope grab permanently assembled on the working rope
- Energy absorber: can be equipped only with certified (according to EN 362) snap hook.
The total length of the energy absorber with snap hook shall not exceed 44 cm.
The device is made with 15 m. length working rope.
ATTENTION: FALLSTOP is a complete component of fall arrest system.
The rope grab is permanently assembled on the working rope and any activity to remove
the rope grab from the rope is strictly forbidden.

PRE-USE INSPECTION
Before each use, a person who is going to use the PPE, has to ex-
ecute a close visual examination of all components, in order to check
if some mechanical, chemical or thermal defects are present. If some
doubt arises about the good condition and the right functioning of the
PPE, it has to be withdrawn from use. Then the PPE must be sent to
the device manufacturer or to his certified representative to carry out
a detailed inspection and the eventual repair.

CONNECTING
TO
POINT
The fall arrester must be connected to
an anchor device complying with EN 795
standard or to a structural fixed element,
using a connector complying with EN
362. The anchor point should be situated
above the workplace and it must have a
min. static resistance of 15 kN. The shape
of the anchor point should not let self-act-
ing disconnection of the device.
WORKING PLACE REQUIREMENTS
It is obligatory to verify the free space re-
quired beneath the user's workplace before each use of the PPE against falls, in order to avoid the impact with objects or
with a beneath surface during the fall arrest process. Free distance below the working surface depends on the length of the
working rope over the worker. See the table:
Length of the rope over the
worker (m) - L
Free distance below the
working surface (m) – X
During horizontal moving of the worker, the work-
ing rope deflection from the vertical line up to 45°
is allowed. See the drawing B.
CONNECTING TO THE FULL BODY HARNESS
e
- The device must be connected only to the sternal
attaching rings or to the dorsal one of the full body
harness (1).
- It is strictly forbidden to connect the fall arrester
to the positioning belt rings (2).
- It is forbidden to add any additional element be-
tween the snap hook and the attaching point of the
f
full body harness (3).
- The arrow situated on the rope grab body must
be directed upward, in the direction of the anchor
g
point where the working rope is attached (4).
ATTENTION: In order to avoid any accidental
opening of the snap hook, always check that the
gate is protected with the locking gear.
USING THE DEVICE HORIZONTALLY TO
WORK ON ROOFTOPS
- The free space "H" below the operator must be at
least 3.5 m in order to guarantee that the fall can
be stopped in complete safety. If a work rope that
is longer than 20 m is used, the free space must
i
be increased by 5% of the rope length.
- If the rope is connected to an anchoring point above the position of the user, the inclination angle of the work rope with re-
spect to the vertical must not exceed 45° during the worker's horizontal movement. To avoid the risk of a fall with a swinging
Stabilimento:
effect, the distance between the self-locking mechanism and the vertical line cannot exceed 3 metres. The maximum permitted
Factory:
PL 8310001653
weight of the user using the anti-fall device vertically is 100 kg. (figure A).
- The device was subjected to tests in compliance with European Sheet No. CNB/P/11.075 and can be used while the operator
Distribuito da:
Distributed by:
is moving horizontally in areas where there is a risk of falling over the edge (e.g: on a roof). The minimum radius of the edge
must be 0.5 mm (figure B). If the edge is sharp
or can damage the rope (e.g. with burrs), install
suitable edge protection. The anchoring point of
j
the work rope cannot be located below the level
of the operator's feet (figure E).
The bending angle of the rope on the edge when
the fall is being stopped must be at least 90°
(figure D).
While the work is being performed, the anti-fall
device must always be tight.
The length of the self-locking device (sliding of
the lock mechanism on the rope) can only be
adjusted when the operator is not moving to-
wards the fall edge. To avoid the risk connected
to the swinging effect in the case of a fall, the
operator can move horizontally a distance of 1.5
m with respect to the axis of symmetry of the
anchoring point, in both directions (figure C).
