2. SUMMARY
2.1. BRIEF INTRODUCTION
SKYARC 2040 NX welders work with electrodes (MMA), TIG and MIG/MAG/FCAW welding (with Spool
Gun) thanks to the WELD360 technology and adoption of the latest pulse width modulation technology
(MAP) and IGBT modules. They use electronic control systems allowing to change the working
frequency by replacing the high-frequency transformer with the medium-frequency transformer,
making them portable, small in size and low in energy consumption.
SKYARC 2040 NX machines have excellent performance: real-time display and preset current for
operator convenience; fan oow allows the machine to save energy; constant current output allows for
a more stable arc; fast machine response reduces impact on process quality and time with no current
uctuation; precise current setting and preset functions; and the machine has over current protection
for over current protection. The equipment has over-current and overheating protection with visual
alarms on the front panel that cut the equipment's current output immediately, allowing the
equipment's useful life to be prolonged, improving its reliability and practicality.
The SKYARC 2040 NX can perform TIG welding. In electrode type welding (MMA), when the electrode
touches the piece for more than two seconds, the current drops to the minimum to protect the
electrode. In TIG operation, the equipment starts delivering a minimum output current until the arc is
ignited by the LIFT ARC method, then the output current will rise to the preset value to protect the
tungsten in the electrode. ARC FORCE and HOT START technology is also available for electrode (MMA).
