3.2.4 FITTING OF DRIVE BELTS
This operation should be carried out with the tractor engine
switched off, the parking brake on and the equipment resting
on the ground.
1) The belts should be inserted between the pulley fi tted on the
rear power take-off of the harrow (A, Fig. 14) and the one with
the centrifugal clutch of the blower (B, Fig. 14).
2) Regolate belt-tension using handwheel "A" ( Fig. 15).
Press on the middle part of the belt be- tween the two pulleys
with a 5 Kg force. Each belt should give max. 1 cm (Fig. 16).
To change belts remove belt tension completly with using
handwheel. (A Fig. 15).
Caution: Never take off nut "B"! (Fig. 15)
The belts should always be replaced in pairs, using original
spare parts.
If a blower rotation speed (rpm) sensor is fi tted it will be
necessary to check that it positioned correctly in front of
the reading area (see supplementary instruction booklet).
If required, loosen the screws (B) and move the sensor
support (A, Fig. 17).
3) After the V-belts have been fi tted, check their correct alignment
between the drive pulley and the driven pulley.
Precise alignment makes the belts run smoothly and last lon-
ger.
4) Put back the guards of the pulleys and the belts (A, B Fig. 11),
making sure they are positioned and secured properly.
