4.1 MAINTENANCE PLAN - Summary table

USE AND MAINTENANCE
- Lubricate all the transmission chains with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90) (Fig. 80).
- Grease all parts indicated by transfer nr. 14 ('GRASE') at page 52 of this leafl et.
- After the fi rst hours of work check that all the bolts are still tight.
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the listers (A-B, Fig. 81).
- Grease all the coulter elements (C, Fig. 81).
- Lubricate all the transmission chains with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90) (Fig. 80).
- Before every new season, change the gearbox oil with SAE 10W (2 Kg) as follows:
oil drainage plug, 2 Fig. 83;
oil fi lling plug, 3 Fig. 83.
- Make sure that the transmission rotates freely without any interferences.
- Operate the empty seeding machine, the air-fl ow frees the pipes from condensation and
removes eventual impurities (Fig. 82).
- Grease all the coulter elements (C, Fig. 81).
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the listers (A-B, Fig. 81).
- Clean and lubricate the transmission chains (Fig. 80), the gears and the chain tensioner.
- Check the fan-belt tension (Fig. 84). Press on the middle part of the belt be- tween the two
pulleys with a 5 Kg force. Each belt should give max. 1 cm (Fig. 84).
Replace the belts if they present signs of wear or aging. Always replace the belts in pairs
with genuine spare belts.
Replace the transmission belts every 400 hectares tilled!
- Grease all the coulter elements (C, Fig. 81).
- Clean the distributor carefully and thoroughly (see cap 3.5.1).
- Thoroughly clean the entire distribution head (Fig. 85) as follows:
• loosen and remove the wing nuts (A);
• remove the cover on the distributor (B);
• clean metal parts with a brush and plastic parts with a cloth;
• put the cover back in place and close it with the wing nuts.
- Make sure the toothed wheels are properly aligned and the transmission chains are tensioned
to prevent them from wearing out in little time or a failure affecting the transmission parts.
