Installation
Functional test
This test may take approximately 30 minutes.
1. Turn on the power to the unit.
2. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote control to turn it on.
3. Press the MODE button to scroll through the following functions, one at a time:
- COOL - Select the lowest possible temperature.
- HEAT - Select the highest possible temperature.
4. Allow each function to run for 5 minutes and perform the following checks:
List of checks to be carried out
No electrical leakage
Unit is properly grounded
All electrical terminals are properly covered
Indoor and outdoor units are solidly installed
No leaks at all piping connection points
Water drains properly from drain hose
All pipes are properly insulated
The unit performs the COOL function properly.
The unit performs the HEAT function properly
The louvers of the indoor unit rotate properly.
The indoor unit responds to the remote control
Double checking of pipe connections
During operation, the pressure in the cooling circuit will increase. This may reveal leaks that were not
present during the initial leak check. During the test run, take the time to check all refrigerant pipe con-
nection points for leaks.
Refer to the Gas Leak Check section for instructions.
5. Once the function test has been successfully completed and confirm that all items on the Checklist to
be Performed have PASSED, do the following:
a. Using the remote control, return the unit to normal operating temperature.
b. Using duct tape, wrap the indoor refrigerant piping connections that were left uncovered during the
indoor unit installation process.
If the ambient temperature is below 17ºC
You cannot use the remote control to activate the COOL function when the room
temperature is below 17°C.
ambient temperature is lower than 17°C. In this case, you can use the MANUAL
CONTROL button to test the COOL function.
1. Lift the front panel of the indoor unit and lift it up until it clicks into place.
2. The MANUAL CONTROL button is located on the right side of the unit.
Press it 2 times to select COOL function.
3. Perform the test run as usual.
