Adjusting the angle of the air flow
Vertical adjustment
While the unit is on, use the SWING/DIRECT button on the remote controller to adjust the direction (verti-
cal angle) of the airflow. Refer to the remote controller manual for details.
Do not move the grille by hand. This will cause the grille to become out of sync. If this happens, turn the
unit off and unplug it for a few seconds, then restart the unit. This will reset the grille.
Note on moving angles:
When using COOL or DEHUMIDIFIER mode, do not place the grille at too vertical an angle for long periods
of time. This may cause water to condense and drip onto the floor or furniture.
When using COOL or HEAT mode, placing the grille at too small an angle may reduce the performance of
the unit due to airflow restriction. In accordance with the requirements of the relevant standards, adjust
the vertical airflow grille to its maximum angle in the heating capacity test.
Horizontal adjustment
The horizontal angle of the airflow must be adjusted manually. Grasp the deflector rod (see illustration
below) and adjust it manually in the preferred direction. On some units, the horizontal angle of the air-
flow can be adjusted by remote control.
