equipment. The equipment may only be repaired by the manufacturer or a person authorised
for this purpose.
INFORMATION AND ADVICE
- Before use, establish a rescue plan to be able to execute in case of emergency.
- Do not make any alterations or additions to the equipment without the prior written consent
of the manufacturer.
- The equipment must not be used outside its limitations, or for other than its intended purpose.
- Ensure compatibility of equipment items when assembled into a system. Ensure that all items
are compatible with each other and appropriate for the proposed application. It is prohibited to
use the protection system where the operation of an individual item is affected by or interferes
with the function of another. Periodically check connections and fittings of components to
prevent accidental disconnection or loosening.
- In the event of deterioration or any doubt as to its suitability for safe use, personal protective
equipment must be withdrawn from use immediately. It must not be used again until a
competent person confirms in writing that it is acceptable to do so.
- In the event that a fall has stopped, the equipment must be removed from use.
- It is essential for safety to check the minimum clearance required below the user's feet in the
workplace before each use (4M), so that in the event of a fall there is no collision with the
ground or other obstacle in the path of the fall. Details of the required minimum clearance can
be found in the instructions for use of the respective fall arrest system components.
- If the product is resold outside the original country of destination the reseller must provide
instructions for use, maintenance, periodic inspection and repair in the language of the country
where the equipment is to be used.
LIFETIME
The estimated product lifetime is 12 years from the date of manufacture (2 years storage + 10
years for use). The following factors can reduce the lifetime of the product : intense use,
contact with chemical substances, specially agressive environment, extreme temperature
exposure, UV exposure, abrasion, cuts, violent impacts, bad use or maintenance.
The required annual examinations will validate the correct functioning of the equipment. It is
compulsory that the equipment is examined by the manufacturer or his authorized
representative at least once a year. In case that it have been used to arrest a fall, the
equipment must be withdrawn from use.
TRANSPORT
The Personal Protective Equipment must be transported in a package that protects it against
moisture or mechanical, chemical and thermal attacks.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTENANCE
CLEANING: The personal protective equipment must be cleaned without causing adverse

effect on the materials used in the manufacture of the equipment. For textile ( webbing and
ropes ) and plastic parts wipe with cotton cloth or a soft brush. Do not use any abrasive
material. For intensive cleaning wash the harness at a temperature between 30ºC and 60ºC
using a neutral detergent. For metallic parts wipe with a wet cloth. When the equipment
becomes wet, either from being in use or when due to cleaning, it shall be allowed to dry
naturally, and shall be kept away from direct heat.
STORAGE: Personal protective equipment should be stored loosely packed, in a

dry and well- ventilated place, protected from direct light, UV degradation, dust, sharp edges,
extreme temperature and aggressive substances.
