FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Applicable to all socket fabrications:
Caution: Make sure no debris contaminates the lock body during grinding
(Fig. II). The lock body will not operate if it is contaminated with debris.
Socket Construction
Prepare plaster negative as usual.
Plaster Positive
1. Model the plaster positive to agree with the residual limb. Mold the
distal end of the liner as precisely as possible.
2. Flatten the distal end with a plaster rasp until the diameter is the same
size as the Manufacturing Dummy 1+2 (Fig. 1). For liner size 22 and
above, use the two Manufacturing Dummies. For liner sizes smaller
than size 22, only use the Manufacturing Dummy 1.
3. Use one of the two following methods to ensure air to flow to the
distal connector at the distal end:
• Drill a hole through the whole model from the distal center to the
proximal end before fixing the Manufacturing Dummy.
OR
• Apply a thin stocking to the plaster.
4. Use the Nails supplied to attach the correct Manufacturing Dummy/
Dummies to the plaster model (Fig. 2).
Note: If using a moist plaster model, isolate properly.
THERMOPLASTIC SOCKETS
1. Put the Small square ring onto the cut-out on the Distal Connector.
Use the Central Screw and the Fixation Dummy to secure the Distal
Connector on the Manufacturing Dummy/Dummies and the plaster
model (Fig. 3).
