Installation and mounting
4.3
Mounting the sensors, L 4000, L 400
You can mount the sensors either directly in appropriate holes or with
the aid of the mounting brackets available (see Ordering information,
p. 324 and appendix).
Special features to note during mounting:
During mounting, make sure that sender and receiver are aligned
correctly. The optical lens systems of sender and receiver must be
located on the same optical axis.
Take suitable measures to attenuate vibration if the shock re-
quirements are above the values given in the chapter 9 "Technical
data, Data sheet, safety evaluation device ".
During mounting, it is imperative that chapter 4.1.1 "Safety dis-
tance for access protection", 4.1.2 "Minimum distance to reflective
surfaces" and 4.1.3 "Multiple protection".

4.3.1 Deflector mirror

Using the L 4000 system and deflector mirrors, multiple sided access
guarding can be realised (Fig. 13).
The usage of deflector mirrors reduces the useable scanning range of
the L 4000 system as per the table.
The usage of more than 2 mirrors (Fig. 14) requires very precise
alignment. In this case use the alignment aid AR 60 (see chapter 6.2).
