BASIC OPERATIONS
SEARCHING
FOR THE BEGINNING OF A
TRACK (MUSIC SENSOR FUNCTION)
lf there is a 4-second or longer blank between each track, the
search for the beginning of the current or next track during -
playback can be easily made.
When P in the display window of the cassette deck is
flashing, press the MS >> button to search for the next track or
the MS <4 button to search for the beginning of the current
track.
When
< in the display window of the cassette deck is
flashing, press the MS <€4 bution to search for the next track or
the MS PP button to search for the beginning of the current
track.
SKIPPING A BLANK
If a blank segment continues for 12 seconds or more, the cassette
deck can automatically fast-forward to the beginning of the next
track and resume playback.
Press the REVERSE MODE button to turn on the => indicator.
NOTE,
The search function (music sensor) and skip function may not
operate properly for tapes with:
¢ blanks of less than 4 seconds between tracks.
© noisy blanks.
* long passages of low-end sound.
¢ low overall recording levels.
CONTINUOUS PLAY
After playback on one deck finishes, the tape in the other deck
will start playback without interruption.
1 Insert tapes into DECK 1 and DECK 2.
2 Press the REVERSE MODE button and select >.
3 Press the <> PLAY/DIR button to start playback.
Playback continues 8 times or until the I STOP button is
pressed.
About cassette tapes
¢120-minute or longer tapes are extremely thin and easily
deformed or damaged. They are not recommended.
¢ Take up any slack in the tape with a pencil or similar tool before
use.
Slack tape may break or jam in the mechanism.

¢ To prevent accidental erasure, break off the plastic tabs on
the cassette tape after recording with a screwdriver or other
pointed tool. - EJ

To record on the tape again, cover the tab openings with
cellophane tape, etc. (On CrOz tapes, take care not to cover
the CrOz tape detection slot ©.)
DOLBY NR system
The Dolby Noise Reduction system reduces tape hiss noise.
For optimum performance when playing back a tape recorded
with the Dolby NR system, turn the Dolby NR system on.
