Move the cursor on C. Temperature and press
Enter.
Write by pressing the
2.0 %/°C (default value) and press Enter.
Put the value of the Reference Temperature at
25°C (default value).
Now that the reading is temperatre
compensated it is possible to calibrate the Gain.
Move the cursor on Gain and press Enter.
Modify the conductivity reading by
buttons till the value of the buffer solution at
25°C (values marked in bold on the previous
table). It is possible to read this value on the
label of the buffer solution.
PLEASE NOTE: in the example here above it is supposed to calibrate using a buffer solution of 12880uS.
Once you write the correct reading press Enter.
Immediately after bring the temperature coefficient to the value suitable for the application (see suggestions below).
Press Esc to return to measurement.
Below we report the temperature coefficients of typical applications:
Acids: 1.0 - 1.6% / ° C
Basics: 1.8 - 2.2% / ° C
Salts: 2.2 - 3.0% / ° C
Drinking Water: 2.0% / ° C
NOTES ON THE THERMOCOMPENSATION OF THE CONDUCTIVITY MEASUREMENT
The temperature compensation in V-MS is calculated using the formula:
C
t
= ─────────
C
rif
1 + α (t - trif)
Where: t = current temperature expressed in ° C
trif = reference temperature expressed in ° C (default 25 ° C, see T.Reference)
α = coefficient of thermocompensation % / ° C expressed in decimal fraction i.e % / ° C
Crif = conductivity value at the reference temperature.
