Notes on the instructions
Read these original operating instructions before using your ve-
hicle for the first time, follow them accordingly and keep them for
later use and possible future owners.
Notes on SELV
This vehicle is classed as protection class III appliance. It
operates with safety extra-low voltage (SELV) and may
only be connected to SELV power sources. The vehicle
may only be used with batteries recommended by Kärcher. If the
batteries are charged with a charger other than the one supplied,
it must output a safety extra-low voltage (SELV) of 36 VDC and
be conform to the IEC 60335-2-29 standard.
Vehicle details
Please report any defects or shipping damage identified on the
vehicle when it is handed over directly to your dealer or depart-
ment store. The warnings and information notices attached to the
device provide important information for safe operation. In addi-
tion to the notes in the operating instructions, the general safety
regulations and accident prevention guidelines applicable by law
must be adhered to.
Intended use
The B 300 RI is a multi-purpose vehicle for wet cleaning and
sweeping without modification.
The vehicle is suitable for commercial and industrial use, e.g. in
hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, and rental
companies.
Depending on the cleaning task, different brushes can be used
and one can choose between a side brush deck and a side scrub-
bing deck.
These operating instructions describe the maximum number of
attached devices. Your device may differ.
Prior to using the vehicle, read through the operating instructions
carefully and familiarise yourself with the operating devices and
the other equipment.
The vehicle may only be used for the intended use, as described
in these operating instructions. Intended use also includes adher-
ence to the prescribed servicing activities and intervals.
The vehicle and attached devices may only be used, maintained
and repaired by persons familiar with the respective task, and
who have been informed about the associated hazards.
The legally applicable general safety and accident prevention
regulations must be adhered to. Comply with other generally rec-
ognised rules relevant to safety, occupational health and traffic
laws.
The vehicle must conform to the applicable national regulations if
used on public roads.
The vehicle must not be used in outside areas at low tempera-
tures (5 °C).
The vehicle is only suitable for use on the floor coverings listed in
the operating instructions.
● The operator must use the vehicle as intended. Take into ac-

count the local conditions and beware of third parties, in par-

ticular children, when working with the vehicle.

● Before starting work, the operator must ensure that the safety

devices have been attached properly and are fully functional.

● The operator must wear close-fitting clothing. Wear sturdy

shoes and avoid loose-fitting clothing.

● The vehicle operator is responsible for accidents with other

people and their property.

● Check the immediate vicinity before setting off (e.g. children).

● Never leave the vehicle unattended while it is switched on.

The operator may only leave the vehicle when the key (Intelli-

gent Key) has been removed and the vehicle is secured
against unintentional movement
● Remove the ignition key to prevent unauthorised use of the ve-
hicle.
● The vehicle must only be operated by persons who have been
instructed with regard to its use, or those who have demon-
strated their ability to operate it and have been expressly au-
thorised to do so.
● This vehicle is not intended for use by persons (including chil-
dren) with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities or
those lacking in experience and/or lacking in knowledge.
● Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with
the vehicle.
● Wet cleaning
This vehicle is used for wet cleaning of level floors. The device
can be easily adjusted to suit the respective cleaning task by
setting a cleaning programme and adjusting the water volume.
The side scrubbing deck transports the sweepings to the cen-
tre where they are picked up by counter-rotating brushes. A
suction fan creates a vacuum and sucks the dirty water into
the waste water tank.
● Sweeping
If the vehicle is to be used primarily for sweeping, we recom-
mend installing a special roller brush and converting it to a side
brush deck.
Note: Modifications to the side brush deck are to be performed
by Kärcher Customer Service, as control parameters must be
changed. The side brush deck conveys the waste into the cen-
tre. The two counter-rotating brushes transport the waste into
the waste container. A suction fan prevents dust from escap-
ing and when the waste container is full, it can be emptied hy-
draulically from the driver's seat.
