 Pre-tension the saw chain (1) by turning the screw (41) in a clockwise direction with the mounting key
(21) as shown fig. E.
 Put the chain wheel cover (36) back in position. Tighten the chain wheel cover nut (37).
TENSIONING THE SAW CHAIN
NOTE: remove the battery pack from the device before working on the device. And always turn off the
device and let the motor cool down before filling with chain oil. Don't over fill and the overflowing oil
can cause a fire.
Regular tightening the saw chain provides safety for the user and reduces and /or prevents wear and chain
damage. Before starting work and at intervals of approx. 10min, it is recommended to examine the chain
tension and correct it if necessary.
The saw chain warms up when working with the saw and thus expands slightly. These "expansions" can be
expected especially from the newer saw chain.
Don't re-tension or change the saw chain when it is hot because it shrinks slightly once it has cooled down.
If this is not observed it can lead to damage on the guide rail or the motor because the saw chain is now
too taut on the guide bar.
Chain tension and chain lubrication have a significant impact on the service life of the saw chain.
The saw chain is properly tensioned when it does not hang from the under side of the guide bar and cannot
be moved around by a gloved hand. When pulling on the saw chain with 9N (approx. 1kg) of force, the saw
chain and guide bar should be separated by a distance of more than 2mm.
 Loosen the nut (37) of the chain wheel cover (36) with the mounting key (21).
 Tension the saw chain (1) by turning the screw (41) in a clockwise direction with the open spanner (23);
and reduce the saw chain tension by turning the screw anti-clockwise.
 Fix the chain wheel cover (36) by tightening the nut (37).
CHAIN LUBRICATION
NOTE: the guide bar and saw chain must never be operated without oil. If the pole pruner is used with too
little oil, the cutting performance and lifespan of the saw chain will decrease as the chain will become blunt
more quickly. You can identify when there is too little oil if smoke develops or the guide bar changes color.
 Check the oil level indicator on the oil tank (42) regularly and top-up the oil. The oil tank (42) holds
about 130ml oil.
 Use bio-oil to reduce friction and wear. Alternatively use the chain lubricating oil with a low proportion
of adhesion additives.
 Empty the oil tank if it will not be used for a prolonged period of time (6-8weeks).
 Unscrew the oil tank cap (43) and pour the chain oil into the oil tank (42).
 Wipe away any spilt oil and close the oil tank cap (43) tightly.
CHECKING THE AUTOMATIC OIL SYSTEM
 Before starting work, check the oil level and the automatic oil system.
 If there is an oil trace, the appliance is operating correctly.
 If there is no oil trace, clean the oil dispenser or have the appliance repaired by our Customer Service.
To clean, wipe the residues from the oil dispenser by using a cloth.
SWIVELLING THE POLE HEDGE TRIMMER (FIG. G)
The cutter bar must be check regularly for wear and reground. A blunt cutter bar causes the device to
overload.
 Hold the handle for cutter bar adjustment (44)
 unlock the lock lever of cutter bar (46).
 By simultaneously press the safety lever (45) and swivel the cutter bar of hedge trimmer into the
desired position.
 Allow the safety lever (45) and the lock lever (46) to click into the recess.
ATTACHING/DETACHING THE SHOULDER STRAP (FIG. H)
 Hook the buckle of shoulder strap (47) into the carrying lug of should strap (6).
 Place the securing hook (48) into the loop of buckle (47) and insert the quick releasing latch (49) into
the securing hook (48) to lock it in position.
