CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Risk of injury. Always switch the appliance off and remove the battery pack before carrying
out any work on the product.
CLEANING
• Repair and servicing work not described in this manual should always be carried by our service
centre. Use only original parts.
• The appliance must always be kept clean, dry and free from oil or grease.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the housing.
• Keep the product and ventilation slots clean at all times. If the ventilation slots are blocked, there
is a risk of overheating and /or the product being damaged.
• Always clean the appliance after completion of work.
• Never permit liquids to enter inside the product. Use a cloth to clean the housing. Never use petrol,
solvents or cleansers which can damage the plastic.
• If necessary, clean the cutting bar with a brush or compressed air.
MAINTENANCE
• Prior to every use, check the tool for obvious defects such as loose, worn or damaged parts. Check
that the screws in the safety cutter bar (2) are tight.
• Check covers and safety devices for damages and correct installation. Replace as necessary.
• You can smoothen in the cutting teeth yourself using a knife grinder to sharpen the cutting edges.
The hedge trimmer will only cut well if the teeth are sharp.
• Blunt bent or damaged cutter bar should be replaced.
• Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only
original parts.
• If the battery is to be stored for an extended period, the charge level should be checked regularly.
The optimum charge level is between 50% and 80%. The optimum storage environment is cool and
dry.
SHARPENING THE SAW CHAIN
 Alternatively, you can use an electric saw chain sharpening device and follow the instructions of the
manufacturer.
 If you have any doubts about implementing the work, the saw chain should be replaced.
CHANGING THE SAW CHAIN
NOTE: never attach a new saw chain onto a worn teeth, or onto a damaged or worn guide bar. And only
use the saw chain and guide bar stated in the technical data.
 Switch off the device and remove the battery pack.
 Release the nut (37) and remove the chain wheel cover (36).
 Remove the old saw chain (1)
 the mounting and tensioning of the new saw chain is described in the section of "mounting the guide
bar and saw chain/ tightening and checking the saw chain".
REPLACE THE SPOOL
 Switch off and remove the battery pack.
 Block the spindle (53) by using the hexagon socket wrench (20) as depicted Fig.J.
 Unscrew the spool (16) out.
 Screw a new spool on.
 NOTE: you may purchase a spool with Φ1.6mm and 6m and double- line on the market.
REPLACE THE 3-TOOTH BLADE
 Remove the battery pack before working the device
 Block the mounting spindle (53) using the hexagon socket wrench (20).
 Remove the nut (56) with the Mounting key (21), and remove the cover (55) and flange (54).
