Replacing the Knife Protection Pads
Slide the guide off the shaft and remove the clamp.
Remove the self-adhesive pads from both the clamp and the
guide. Replace with new pads.
Cleaning
Unclip the magnet from the
guide and wipe away the
sharpening dust using a dry
cloth or kitchen paper towel.
You can also use tape to re-
move the last of the grinding
dust.
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean
the Knife Protection Pads. If
necessary, replace the Knife
Protection Pads as described in
the steps above.
Note: The shapes of the
Knife Protection Pads are
different for the guide and
clamp.
The diamond grinding wheel
can be cleaned with acetone if
it is clogged with glue residue
from the Knife Protection Pads,
or other dirt. Apply acetone to
a cloth or paper towel and hold
it against the grinding wheel
while it rotates. This may need
to be repeated a number of
times to get the grinding wheel
completely clean. An eraser can
also be held against the grinding
wheel, pulling the last remnants
of dirt out of the diamond-coat-
ed surface in order to restore the
shine of the grinding wheel.
