INITIAL OPERATION
Allow only qualified persons to assemble, wire, connect, start X-zone Com for the
first time, operate it and perform maintenance. Qualified persons must have read
and understood the Operating Manual and must wear suitable protective clothing
while installing, operating, maintaining, and transporting the device. Before switching on the system,
check that all connections are correct.
4.2.1 Charging the battery
When you charge X-zone Com, make sure the power supply unit/charger (hereinafter referred to as
power supply unit) and the mains outlet are outside the potentially explosive atmosphere and outside
the established ex zone. In addition, before you connect the power supply unit to the mains, make
sure the voltage stated on its nameplate matches that of the mains. Once you have done this, you
may connect the power supply unit to X-zone Com's K5 connector (see Chapter 4.2.4).
Fig. 4.3: X-zone Com's power supply unit and its source of power must always be outside the designated ex zones.
Ambient temperatures during the charging process should be between +5°C and +30°C, otherwise the
charging process may take longer (see Chapter 6.4).
