X-zone Com automatically tries to determine its GPS coordinates when you turn it on. During opera-
tion, it continues to determine coordinates at your chosen frequency. Check the [Active] box to acti-
vate this function.
Fig. 5.13: Selecting the checkbox immediately activates the coordinate finding function.
Whilst the device is determining the GPS coordinates, the [Active] checkbox's lettering will alternate
between grey and black. Once GPS parameters have been determined, this will cease and the coordi-
nates will appear. The [Active] checkbox is still active and the time and date when the coordinates
were determined ("Determined on") appear as recorded by the system. For the duration of a single
minute, the device will try to obtain a more accurate result, after which the [Active] checkbox and the
GPS module will deactivate.
Any attempt to determine the position will end after 10 minutes if unsuccessful. After that, the GPS
module switches off to save energy. If the GPS module could not determine the position, the system
will use the last established position. The GPS symbol is crossed out in the display of X-zone Com
(see Chapter 6.4.1).
