IMPORTANT when STARTING
„ Carefully read the instructions by the car manufacturer and
the battery manufacturer before any attempt to use the quick
start procedure.
To protect the vehicle electronics:
¾ Do not use the quick start procedure if the battery is
sulphated or faulty.
¾ Do not use the quick start procedure if the battery is not
connected to the vehicle: The presence of the battery is
essential to eliminate any overvoltage that may be created
as the result of energy accumulated in the connecting cables
at the quick start phase.
¾ To facilitate a quick start, it is advisable to make a quick
charge of 10-15 minutes.
How to programme the starter
L
You cannot use the battery charger if you are in the
Programming Menu.
¾ Press button [Setting Menu] to activate the battery
charger programming and scroll through the Menu
with buttons [◄►].
¾ According to the contents, you can select a parameter or
change a numeric value using buttons [▲▼] .
change to the next parameter, the change made is activated.
Control Overview
¾ Select the "Booster" quick start programme
Phases of the start programme: Fig. 6
1) Check for sulphated battery.
10) Quick start with the following messages:
"CHECK": Battery with too low voltage: Charge in
progress at limited current.
"GO" = ready for quick start
"RUN" = quick start activated (4 seconds)
"WAIT" = waiting time (40 seconds)
¾ Select the battery voltage.
Battery voltages available: 6, 12, 24 Volt
¾ Press button
[Setting Menu]
function
The warning icons are displayed to the right side of the screen
Fig. 1,1 – (05).
The battery charge does not stop charging when these icons
are displayed; these symbols are shown to warn/inform the
user.
"S" = the running programme has checked the battery and

found that it may be sulphated.
"T" = There is a malfunctioning temperature sensor used
to compensate the voltage delivered according to the
ambient temperature or the cable is broken.
"!" = SAFE CHARGE & BOOST DISABLED.
"P" = The charging threshold values have been changed
by the user.
L
This is an electronic battery charger and therefore there
are no sparks if the clamps are rubbed one against the
other. This method cannot be used to determine whether
the device is working or not.
While the device is functioning, error messages may be
shown on the screen, which causes the battery charger to
stop. The user is to intervene.
"Error: Short circuit"
Battery terminals are connected but the polarity is reversed or
the battery is short-circuited.

reverse polarity. [E]

surcharge caused by a short circuit at the clamps or the
battery cells, or by reverse polarity at the battery terminals (+;
-).
However, there may be other irregular situations that the fuse
cannot protect against. (For instance, a battery with a very low
charge connected and the polarity is reversed).
Always make sure that the polarity is correct so as not to
injure people or damage things.
Disconnect the battery charger from the mains before
replacing fuses.
"Error: Voltage HIGHT"
Battery voltage much higher than the value selected in the
battery charger has been detected. Check and modify the
battery voltage, "Volt".
"Error: Voltage LOW"
Battery voltage much lower than the value selected in the
battery charger has been detected: It may be due to an error
when the battery voltage, "Volt", was selected. Check the
voltage selected and if it is correct, press key [▲▼] so that
the charger keeps charging.
"Error: Recovery (Phase 7)"
The desulphation programme cannot recover the battery. You
may have to replace the battery.
"Error: Capacity (Phase 3)"
One or more battery plates are short-circuited, or the capacity
is too much for the current selected.
"Error: Soft Start (Phase 2)"
The battery cannot be charged. You may have to replace the
battery.
"Error: Analyze (Phase 5)"
The battery cannot keep the charge. You may have to replace
the battery.
"Error: Thermal"
The battery charger is fitted with an automatic reset
thermostat that trips and so turns the battery charger off and
on again should a thermal overload occurs that may damage
the device.
"Error: Batt Temp"
Battery temperature too high or too low (-20° / +50°).
