2.2
Proper use
The appliance is intended for the display of packaged,
refrigerated food products or access to them by cus-
tomers.
The operator is responsible for proper operation of the
appliance.
WARNING
Danger due to misuse.
▪ Do not make any technical changes to the
appliance.
▪ Do not use steam or high-pressure clean-
ers for basic cleaning.

▪ Do not store explosive materials such as
aerosol containers with combustible propel-
lant gas in this device.
▪ Only commission and operate the device
after it has been properly installed and in-
stalled and without obvious defects.
NOTICE
Material and property damage due to misuse.
▪ Do not operate the appliance above the climate
class stated on the rating plate (see →Rating plate
and serial number).
▪ The ambient temperature must not be less than 16
°C (60.8 °F).
▪ Operate the appliance in a stable operating position
(horizontal alignment).
Check that the appliance is in good, proper condition.

Any damage must be repaired immediately.
▪
Prior to storing goods and during operation, check to
ensure that the temperature is correct (see
→Temperature display).
▪ In the event of a power failure, stored goods must
be checked by the operator (temperature check).
▪ Check the area in which goods are placed for for-
eign objects. Remove goods stored incorrectly im-
mediately.
▪ Do not set up or store the appliance outdoors.
▪ To ensure good air circulation, maintain minimum
distances to surrounding walls and other appliances
(see →Setup and installation).
▪ Read the installation notes (see →Setup and in-
stallation).
▪ Do not operate the appliance if there is any glass
damage (cracks, breaks).
- Remove goods from the damaged appliance and
move them to a working appliance with the same
product temperature class.
- Switch off the damaged appliance after removing
the goods (decommissioning, see →Shutdown).
- Contact the maintenance service (see →Mainten-
ance services).

Personnel requirements

on the appliance.
▪ The staff must read and understand this
manual before starting work.
Operator
– The operator must ensure that this manual has
been read and understood by the operating per-
sonnel (training).
– The operator is responsible for ensuring that mal-
functions during operation (e.g. alarms, temperat-
ure deviations, etc.) are detected by the operating
personnel and that appropriate action is taken (see
→Malfunctions during operation and What to do
if ...).
