7.2 Opening the Axon-Bus gripping component in an emergency

INFORMATION
If emergency opening of the Michelangelo Hand cannot be performed, the entire prosthesis
must be removed from the residual limb if necessary.

7.3 Proper handling of the Axon-Bus gripping component

Storage of the gripping component
CAUTION
Storage of the gripping component in the closed state
Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the gripping component because of damage to the
sensors and mechanism.
Store the gripping component in the neutral position or open state only.
CAUTION
Mechanical stress on the Axon-Bus prosthetic system
Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the Axon-Bus prosthetic system.
Do not subject the Axon-Bus components to mechanical vibrations or impacts.
Check the Axon-Bus components for any visible damage before each use.
8 Cleaning

Damage to the product due to the use of incorrect cleaning agents.

This safety function allows the Axon-Bus gripping component to be
opened regardless of the control signals present.
1) With the Axon-Bus prosthetic system switched on, press the char­
ging receptacle button and hold for approximately three seconds
until the Axon-Bus gripping component begins to open.
→ A pulsating beep sounds as it opens.
2) Releasing the button immediately stops the process of opening
the Axon-Bus gripping component and turns the entire Axon-Bus
prosthetic system off.
