2. Instructions for the
operator
In addition to the safety instructions, please
observe the following basic directions:
Permanently identify all process water
•
tapping points with the notice "Not drinking
water". This also applies to garden taps.
If you use removable or lockable turning
•
handles on publicly accessible outlet valve,
these must not be replaced by a top with a
toggle handle. After using the valve,
remove or lock the turning handle.
Inspect the system if changes in water
•
odour, colour and / or suspended materials
occur at the taps. If necessary, consult an
expert.
Do not use any chemicals or additives to
•
operate and clean the system.
There must be no connection between the
•
drinking water and the process water.
Shut off and drain the taps and process
•
water pipes that are not frost-protected in
good time before the onset of winter.
If there is a risk of frost during extended
•
shutdowns or when in storage outdoors,
make sure that the system is completely
empty and that there is no water in the
pumps and pipelines.
Avoid static loads (e.g. by hanging objects)
•
on all infeed, overflow, drainage and
tapping pipes.
The information on possible water savings
•
are approximate values, and are
dependent on system operation.
The quality of the fed-in rainwater must be
•
in line with the quality as stated in the fbr
Information Sheet H201. Otherwise,
Pontos cannot accept any responsibility for
the quality of the process water.
Use only the process water from Stage 3
•
for the filter backflush and the cleaning
hose connected to the pipeline. Never use
drinking water.

3. Requirements for
installation
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled
before the system is assembled and
connected:
Building installation
The building must be equipped as follows:
A collecting pipe bled separately from the
black water line, carrying the shower
and bath water to the water recycling
system.
A process water network separate from the
drinking water system, connecting the
water recycling system to the tapping
points (toilet, outside tap etc.).
There must be no cross connection between
the drinking water and the process water.
The water recycling system requires separate
bleeding. In most cases, this is realised via
the shower water infeed line overhead.
The bleed outlet must not be connected to
the black water bleed outlet, otherwise
gases from the waste water channel can
enter the system.
Install an odour trap/siphon in the system
overflow.
Make allowance for the water build-up level of
the waste water system. Depending on
where the water recycling system is set up,
make sure that in the event of a water
build-up, no water from the communal
waste water pipe can enter the water
recycling system.
All collection points located below the infeed
can be fed by means of the water recycling
system's pumping system. The pumping
system must have a separate overflow and
a delivery rate of max. 100 l/min.
Flush all inlets before commissioning. This
prevents the introduction of building waste
and other impurities. For this reason,
completion of the building immediately
prior to moving in is appropriate as the
commissioning time.
