NOTICE
In addition, all instructions of the battery manufacturer must be followed.
– Spray all exposed electrical contacts with a suitable contact spray.
7.2
Measures required during the shutdown period
Every two months:
– Charge the battery (see "Charging the battery" in Chapter F).
IMPORTANT Battery-operated industrial trucks:
Regular charging of the battery is very important; otherwise spontaneous
discharge could lead to total discharge of the battery. This would result in
battery failure due to sulfation.
7.3
Restarting the vehicle after shutdown
– Clean the truck thoroughly.
– Lubricate the industrial truck according to the lubrication plan
(see "Lubrication plan" in Chapter G).
– Clean the battery. Grease the pole screws with pole grease and reconnect the
battery.
– Charge the battery (see "Charging the battery" in Chapter F).
– Check whether there is condensation water in the gearbox oil and replace it if
necessary.
– Check whether there is condensation water in the hydraulic oil and replace it if
necessary.
– Start the industrial truck
(see "Starting the vehicle" in Chapter E).
IMPORTANT Battery-operated industrial trucks:
In the event of contact problems in the electrical system, spray the exposed
contacts with contact spray and operate the controls repeatedly to remove
any oxide film on the control contacts.
