Startup

IMPORTANT Operate the vehicle under battery power only. Rectified alternating current
will damage the electronic components. Cable connections to the battery
(trailing cables) must not exceed 6 m (19.7 ft) in length.
The following procedures must be carried out to prepare the vehicle for use after
delivery or transportation:
– Check the equipment for completeness and condition.
– Check the battery connections and acid level (see "Checking the battery state, acid
level and acid density" in Chapter F).
– Check the torque of the wheel nuts.
– Start up the vehicle as described (see "Placing the vehicle in operation" in
Chapter E).
IMPORTANT Confirm that all safety devices are present and working properly.
NOTICE If delivered without a battery, the vehicle can be steered only with the
mechanical substitute steering (see Chapter E).
NOTICE After initial startup, you may hear the brakes rubbing slightly.
