OT Rope
Instruction Manual
LiftSentry Load measuring system
C) How to set OT transducer for different rope diameters or different measuring ranges
Deflection pins are held in position with elastic rings. By removing the elastic rings (3 mm flat
screwdriver can be used) it is possible to change the existing pins with new ones of different shape, in
order to adapt the OT transducer to a new rope diameter or to a new measuring range. If OT transducer is
connected on a multi-rope configuration (several OT transducers connected together, all pins must be of
the same type). Handle is not to be substituted.
D) Electrical connection of OT transducer to digital conditioner
1
AVOID shortening, at different lengths, the cables of the OT transducers.
Rope LiftSentry system can be calibrated with:
• MANU procedure, if known weight is to be used to calibrate the system (special load cases not
considered by the load / rope diameter reference table).
AUTO procedure, if OT transducer is loaded corresponding to the deflection pin own
characteristics (load / rope diameter).

E) Deflection pin reference table
Each deflection pin is marked, on the front surface, with a number that identifies its measurement
characteristics.
The following table indicates the relationship between the pin number type, its
installation position, the rope diameter and the corresponding measuring range. Please note that on each
OT transducer both pins must be installed on the same position and must have the same type number. All
the installed OT transducer must have the same deflection pins.
Deflection Pin type number = 1

NOTE: the over-listed table indicated transducer's setup preferable for the best measurement performance
and has been obtained with ropes with textile core.
Other combinations are possible and other load conditions and rope diameters may be considered; please
