Instruction Manual
LiftSentry Load measuring system
F) Digital indicator and load limiter model 699 F
Ground to earth the 699 electronics and respect all the relevant safety and electrical regulations.
Once performed all the needed electrical connections feed power supply and wait 15 minutes, before
calibrating. Measurement changes are displayed in tens of the used engineering units.
At 699 power on, or after a reset, display will show in sequence 699F, the firmware release version (i.e.
1.05) and:
• UCAL, if unit is not calibrated or if default data are loaded
• MCAL, if it has been calibrated using the MANU procedure
Supplied material:
N° 1 699 Digital conditioner complete of mating connectors (removable screw terminal), with reference to
the ordered configuration
N° 2 Fixing screws, type M4 x 12 UNI 7687
N° 2 Nuts, type M4
Perform calibration of the installed Liftsentry load measuring system when lift's car is at the lowest
floor of the hoistway, after having cycled mechanical connection between ropes and OT transducers.
CE DECLARATION
699 digital conditioner complies with the requirements of the following norms:
EN 61326-1(1997) + A1(1998) + A2(2001) + A3(2003); EN 61000-6-2(2001); EN 61000-3-2(2000) + A2(2005);EN 61000-3-3(1995) + A1(2001); EN 61000-

Code
Meaning
ER.10
OVER RANGE - Verify that transducer is installed
correctly on the ropes and re-calibrate. Verify that the
calibrated spacers are correct for the rope's diameter.
Verify the correct position of the deflection bar, toward the
fixing nuts and the calibrated spacers. Try to substitute
the transducer and re-calibrate.
ER.22
High load sensitivity. Verify that calibrated spacers
correspond to rope's diameter and that no ropes overlap.
ER.23
HI value is too low (in engineering units).
ER.24
Load specimen is too low. Increase load.
ER.30
Damaged A/D converter. Substitute 699 Electronics.
ER.70
Electrical connection problem. Check connections and
that cable has not been damaged.

G) 699 Instrument configuration – AUTO procedure
0) Once installed the OT system, enter this procedure by :
• powering the 699 unit, while pressing
• using RESET pushbutton, while pressing
Display will show AUTO to confirm procedure activation.
Use
or
to view available parameters.
E
Use
to view and modify existing numeric parameter or to confirm changes to
parameter. 699 unit indicate that new parameter has been accepted by showing,
briefly, MEMO and then displaying again the parameter's name.
C
Use
to end calibration and start load measurement or to abort changes to
numeric parameter, maintaining the existing value.
To modify numeric parameter use
+ E
unit.
increase value of 10 and then 100 units while
and then 100 units.
1) TARE: a tare value is set, as current lift's own weight (always set to 0); press
to start count down (60 sec; display shows from T-60 to T-0 to indicate
E
remaining delay) to allow technician to move away form lift (no load on lift's
floor until measurement is taken). Tare measurement is completed after MEMO is
displayed and TARE is shown again. For Rope LiftSentry, refer to point D.
2) MODL: Used to enter model reference (2 digits number [1 to 32]; see reference
table, paragraph E) of OT transducer. Default value = 1
3) NROP: indicates number of lift's ropes. Default value = 4
All the transducers of the OT system have to be installed on a rope, the OT
system must have as many transducers as lift's ropes.
4) SUSP: Suspension type, indicating the pulley factor to be considered when
evaluating load measurement. Available values: 1 (1:1), 2 (1:2), 3 (1:3) and 4
(1:4) Default value = 1
5) ADJ: At first installation keep ADJ=0; Allows fine tuning (up to ±20% max.)
of the measured value, due to aging of the ropes. Default value = 0
6) FSCA: maximum lift's rated capacity, in Kg. Default value = 0
7) LEV1: alarm level value, expressed in percentage of the FSCA value, to
activate Relay 1 (modifiable value). Default value = 80 % FSCA.
8) LEV2: alarm level value, expressed in percentage of the FSCA value, to
activate Relay 2 (modifiable value). Default value = 110 % FSCA.
9) LEV3: alarm level value, expressed in percentage of the FSCA value, to
activate Relay 3 (modifiable value). Default value = 5 % FSCA.
This parameter is considered by 699 only if Relay 3 is installed (option).
10) CHNC: (option) Towed chain compensation and relays block are inactive
(default) if CHNC=0; active if CHNC=1. Parameter is available only if digital
input 1 and digital input 2 are installed.
NOTE: wrong parameters (MODL, NROP, SUSP or ADJ) will lead to measurement errors.
