Troubleshooting
Possible cause
The starter pawls can-
not move freely.
Incorrect fuel type.
Incorrect idle speed.
The spark plug is dirty
or wet.
Incorrect electrode
gap.
The spark plug is
loose.
2. Put the combination wrench in the gearbox
and turn clockwise and counterclockwise.
Make sure that the blades move freely.
3. Examine the edges of the blades for
damages and deformation.
4. Use a file to remove burrs on the blades.
5. Install in the opposite sequence.
Recommended step
Adjust or replace the starter pawls.
Clean around the starter pawls.
Speak to an approved servicing dealer.
Drain it and use correct fuel.
Adjust the idle speed.
Make sure that the spark plug is dry and clean.
Clean the spark plug. Make sure that the elec-
trode gap of the spark plug is correct. Make
sure that the spark plug is installed with a sup-
pressor.
