6 Electrical Connection
☐ Maximum cable length: 30 m
SMA Solar Technology AG recommends using a ten-conductor cable with a conductor cross-section of 2.5 mm² to
connect current measurement and voltage measurement of the Fuel Save Controller.
Procedure:
1. Insert the cable (see Section 9.1 "Inserting the Cables", page 47).
2. Strip the cable.
3. Strip 15 mm to 18 mm of the insulation from the cable's insulated conductors. When doing so, ensure that no
pieces of cable fall into the enclosure.
4. Connect the X200 insulated connectors to the connecting terminal plate in accordance with the following
labeling. If the conductors are stranded wires, additionally pretension the springs of the spring-cage terminals
using a screwdriver (see Section 9.2 "Connecting the Stranded Wire to the Spring-Cage Terminal", page 48).

5. Ensure that a right-hand rotating magnetic field is present at the three-phase voltage measuring input.
6. Ensure that the insulated conductors are firmly in place.
7. Check whether the jumpers are correctly inserted for the selected voltage measurement:
• If a voltage measurement without a voltage converter is connected in the four-conductor utility grid, the
neutral conductor and grounding conductor must never be bridged for this voltage measurement. Make sure
that there are no jumpers plugged into the affected terminals of the connecting terminal plate X200 (see
Section 6.7.1 "Setup of the current and voltage measurement", page 26).
• If a voltage measurement is connected via a voltage converter in the four-conductor utility grid, the neutral
conductor and the grounding conductor must always be bridged for this voltage measurement. Plug the
supplied blue jumpers into the affected terminals of the connecting terminal plate X200 (see Section 6.7.1
"Setup of the current and voltage measurement", page 26).
