Dismounting the Fuel Save Controller

Danger to life from electric shock due to live voltage
Danger of electric shock if work is executed incorrectly or under fault conditions. An electric shock can lead to death
or serious injury.
• Disconnect the supply voltage and the measuring cables for the current- and voltage measurement before
performing any work on the Fuel Save Controller.
• Observe the five safety rules when disconnecting the supply voltage:
– Disconnect from voltage sources.
– Ensure that the device cannot be reconnected.
– Ensure that no voltage is present.
– Ground and short-circuit the device.
– Cover and isolate any adjacent live components.
Risk of injury from the Fuel Save Controller falling
The Fuel Save Controller is very heavy. There is risk of injury if the Fuel Save Controller is lifted incorrectly or falls
during transport or mounting.
• Two persons are required for mounting and removing the Fuel Save Controller.
• Take the weight of the Fuel Save Controller of approximately 48 kg into consideration.
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment, e.g. safety shoes, when mounting the Fuel Save Controller.
• Use mounting material suitable for the support surface when mounting the Fuel Save Controller.
Procedure:
1. Stop the Fuel Save Controller (see Fuel Save Controller user manual).
2. Disconnect the supply voltage and the measuring cables for the current- and voltage measurement on the Fuel
Save Controller.
3. Open the Fuel Save Controller using the switch cabinet key.
4. Remove all cables from the Fuel Save Controller.
5. Lock the Fuel Save Controller using the switch cabinet key.
6. Remove the screws of the wall mounting brackets. When doing so, the Fuel Save Controller must be supported by
two people.
7. Remove the Fuel Save Controller from the wall.
8. Remove the wall mounting brackets.

Disposing of the SMA Fuel Save Controller

• Dispose of the Fuel Save Controller in accordance with the locally applicable disposal regulations for electronic
waste.
