9.1
Inserting the Cables
Always insert the cables into the Fuel Save Controller according to the following procedure.
Risk of injury due to hot fluids
Hot fluids that arise during a possible cable fire can emerge from the opened knockouts in the bottom flange plate.
This can result in severe burns.
• Ensure that all of the opened knockouts are used for the insertion of cables.
• Close unused knockouts with a suitable material.
Property damage due to dust intrusion and moisture penetration
Dust intrusion or moisture penetration can damage the Fuel Save Controller.
• Protect the Fuel Save Controller against dust and moisture.
• Do not open the Fuel Save Controller at high humidity or high dust levels.
• Close the enclosure after performing any work on the Fuel Save Controller.
• Only use the supplied cable glands when inserting cables into the Fuel Save Controller.
Procedure:
1. Open the Fuel Save Controller using the switch cabinet key.
2. For pre-assembled cables select the supplied multiple cable gland M32.
3. For cables that are not pre-assembled, select one of the supplied cable glands that matches the outer diameter of
the selected cable.
4. Select a knockout that matches the selected cable gland.
5. Break out the selected knockout using a hammer and
screwdriver.
6. Unscrew the counter nut from the cable gland.
7. Screw the cable gland onto the opening in the flange plate using the counter nut.
8. Unscrew the swivel nut from the cable gland.
9. For pre-assembled cables perform the following steps:
• Pull the cable support sleeve out of the cable gland.
• Lead the cable through the swivel nut.
