handpieces and contra-angles can be sterilized (wrapped in a sterilization bag) in an autoclave at 135°C (275°F) to

Following manual or automatic preparation for sterilization and lubrication, place the contra-angle in a hermetic sterilization bag
(wrap the contra-angle separately in a retractable sterilization bag):
- Individual packaging: A standard packaging material may be used. Make sure that the sterilization bag is big enough for the contra-
angle so that using force to close the bag is not necessary. The sterilization bag must be of appropriate size for the contra-angle
and not be distended.
- Batch processing: The contra-angle may be placed in an instrument box provided to this effect or in a tray generally used for
sterilization. Wrap up the trays using appropriate methods.
•
Perform sterilization in a sterilizer compliant with the standard EN 13060. Contact corrosion due to humidity may be possible.
•
In case you want to sterilize several handpieces or contra-angles in one autoclave cycle, make sure that the autoclave's maximum
load is not exceeded (cf. the autoclave's instructions of use).
