Flushing and Syringe use policy
- Use a syringe of at least 20ml for flushing the tube and always flush in a controlled manner.
- For medication delivery, always administer using an appropriate size syringe for the volume of
medication but ensure delivery is in a controlled manner.
- Never use excessive force. If there is any resistance, stop the procedure and consult your
clinician.
REMOVAL
Bengmark PEG/J tube every 6 weeks. Replacement or removal of
