3. Adjusting the amount of oil
(1) Adjusting the amount of oil supplied to the face plate parts
WARNING :
The sewing machine is running at a high speed. �e extremely careful about the operation of the
machine when adjusting the amount of oil to avoid personal injuries�
• Checking the amount of oil
Position to confirm the amount of oil (oil splashes)

* When performing the operation of 2) below� remove needle thread from the thread take�up lever to needle and
bobbin thread. Then be careful to check the machine with the presser foot lifted.
1) If the machine has not been sufficiently warmed up for operation, make the machine run idle for approximately three
mnutes. (Moderate ntermttent operaton)
2) Place the amount of oil (oil splashes) confirmation paper under the hook while the sewing machine is in operation.
(Secton A n the drecton of the arrow mark ( → ))
3) Confirm that the height of the oil surface in the oil reservoir is within the range between "H" and "L".
4) Confirmation of the amount of oil should be completed in ten seconds. (Check the period of time with a watch.)

WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine� be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

1) The sample shown in the figure on the left side is the
amount of ol adjusted at the tme of delvery. Check
the amount of ol before usng the machne and re-
adjust the amount of ol approprately accordng to the
condton of use. (If the ol amount s nadequate, the
frame can be sezed (the frame becomes hot). If the
ol amount s excessve, the sewng product can be
staned wth ol (ol leaks))
2) Adjust the amount of ol so that the amount of ol
(ol splashes) should not change whle checkng the
amount of ol three tmes (on the three sheets of pa-
per).
) Adjust the amount of ol suppled to the thread take-up
and needle bar crank 2 by turnng adjust pn 1 .
2) The mnmum amount of ol s reached when marker
dot A s brought close to needle bar crank 2 by turn-
ng the adjust pn n drecton B .
3) The maxmum amount of ol s reached when marker
dot A s brought to the poston just opposte from the
needle bar crank by turnng the adjust pn n drecton C .
