1. Attaching the needle
WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine� be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

2. Setting the bobbin into the bobbin case

A needle of SCHMETZ UY80GVS should be used. Select
a proper needle sze from among varous szes accordng

to the count of thread and the type of materal used.

) Turn the handwheel untl the needle reaches the
hghest pont of ts stroke.

2) Loosen needle clamp nut 2 , and hold needle 1 wth
ts ndented part A facng exactly rght n drecton B .
3) Insert the needle fully nto the hole n the needle bar n
the drecton of the arrow mark untl end E of the hole
s reached.
4) Securely tghten needle clamp nut 2 .
5) Check that long groove C of the needle s facng
exactly to the left n drecton D .
) Pass the thread through thread slt A , and pull the
thread n drecton B . By so dong, the thread wll pass

under the tenson sprng and come out from notch B .
2) Check that the bobbn rotates n the drecton of the
arrow mark D when bobbn thread C s pulled.
3) Securely nsert the bobbn case nto the hook untl the
end of the hook s reached n the state that bobbn
thread s pulled out approxmately 20 mm from the
bobbn case.
* When the dlng amount of the bobbn s excessve at
the tme of thread trmmng, rase dle-protecton sprng
1 n the bobbn case and adjust the dlng amount
wthn the range where the sewng s not affected.

When waste thread or cloth dust
infiltrates in section E (between bobbin
case and bobbin)� unexpected sewing
trouble will be caused. Remove waste
thread or cloth dust gathered inside the
bobbin periodically when replacing the
bobbin or the like.
When sewing is performed in the state
that the bobbin case is not securely
inserted into the hook� unexpected
troubles may be caused. When setting
the bobbin case to the hook at the time
of replacement of bobbin or the like�
securely insert the bobbin case into the
hook until the end of the hook is reached.
