Reduce the speed on slopes and when
making sharp turns to prevent the ma-
chine from tipping over or you losing
control.
Do not turn the steering wheel to full
lock when driving in top gear and at full
throttle. The machine can easily topple
over.
Never drive with the engine casing
open.
Never drive with the deck connected in
the transport position. This will damage
the deck's drive belt.
5.6 CUTTING
5.6.1 Cutting height
The best cutting results are achieved when the
when the top third of the grass is cut off. I.e. 2/3 of
the length of the grass remains.
If the grass is long and has to be cut significantly,
cut twice using different cutting heights.
Do not use the lowest cutting heights if the lawn
surface is uneven. This would entail a risk of the
blades being damaged against the surface and the
lawn's top layer of soil being removed.
5.6.2 Composting/rear ejection
The deck can cut grass in two ways:
• Compost the grass into the lawn.
• Eject the grass behind the deck.
The deck is set for composting on delivery. In or-
der to eject the grass behind the deck, the plug
(16:P) must be removed.
See "6.16.2" and "6.16.3" on how to dismantle and
assemble the cutting deck.
5.6.3 Mowing advice
In order to achieve optimum mowing results, fol-
low the advice below:
• Cut frequently.
• Run the engine at full throttle.
• The grass should be dry.
• Use sharp blades.
• Keep the underside of the cutting deck clean.
5.7 STOP
If the machine is left unattended, re-
move the ignition key.
The engine may be very warm immedi-
ately after it is shut off. Do not touch the
silencer, cylinder or cooling fins. This
can cause burn injuries.
1. Depress the clutch – brake pedal fully.
2. Set the gear control to neutral (N).

3. Disengage the cutting deck.
4. Allow the engine to idle 1 - 2 minutes. Then
5. Lock the parking brake.
5.8 CLEANING
Clean the machine after use. The following in-
structions apply to cleaning:
• Do not point jets of water directly at the engine.
• Clean the engine with a brush and/or com-
• Clean the engine's cooling air intake (7:U).
• After cleaning with water, start the machine and
6.1 SERVICING
In order to keep the machine in good condition, as
regards reliability and operational safety as well as
from an environmental perspective, the mainte-
nance work described in this chapter must be fol-
lowed according o the instructions and at the stated
intervals.
This work should be carried out by an authorised
workshop, but can also be carried out by the user.
Service, carried out by authorised workshops,
guarantees a professional job with original re-
placement parts.
We recommend taking the machine to an author-
ised workshop after each season before it is stored
for the winter.
turn the ignition key to the stop position so that
the engine stops.
To reduce the risk of fire, keep the en-
gine, silencer, battery and fuel tank free
from grass, leaves and oil.
To reduce the risk of fire, regularly
check the machine for oil and/or fuel
leakage.
Never use high-pressure water. This can
damage shaft seals, electrical compo-
nents or hydraulic valves.
Never use high-pressure air against the
radiator fins. This will damage the fin
structure.
