2. Air filter maintenance
An air filter restricts the flow of air to the
carburetor. For the carburetor to work properly,
clean the filter frequently. Perform this operation
if you usually work with the motor in dusty places.
DANGER
Never use gasoline or solvents with a high
ignition rate to clean the air filter as it may cause
a fire or explosion.
CAUTION: Never run the engine without the
air filter on as the engine will wear out quickly.
1) Remove the popcorn and air filter covers.
Remove the components. Check if they are
broken or torn and replace them if they are
damaged.
2) Clean the foam filters with warm soapy water
and rinse well. Let them dry completely. Or
clean them with a low ignition solvent and let
them dry. Once well dried, immerse the foam
filter in oil and fill the inner bowl to the level
indicated on it, (only for the filter in fig. 2) of
clean engine and squeeze it to remove excess
oil. When the engine starts it will smoke if you
have left too much oil in the filter.
3) Reassemble the filter in its respective housing,
place the covers and adjust the knobs. Never
operate the machine without the air filter.
3. Fuel filter cleaning
DANGER
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive under
certain conditions. Do not smoke or be close to
areas where there are fires or sparks.
Turn the stopcock to the OFF position and remove
the fuel filter and the gasket. Wash the extracted
components in solvent and dry them thoroughly
and then replace them correctly. Return the
stopcock to the ON position and check for fuel leaks.
4. Spark plug maintenance
We recommend that you use spark plug type
BPR5ES, (NGK), W16EPR-U, BPR6ES, CTR7F (Groway).
To ensure that the engine works well, the distance
between the electrodes must be correct and the
spark plug must be free of carbon.
