USE
4.1
BEFORE EACH USE: Verify that your work area and Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) meet all criteria defined in
Section 2 and that a formal Rescue Plan is in place. Inspect the Single Point Anchor per the 'User' inspection points
defined on the "Inspection and Maintenance Log" (Table 2). If inspection reveals an unsafe or defective condition, do not
use the Single Point Anchor. Remove the device from service immediately, clearly mark "DO NOT USE", and then either
destroy or forward to 3M for replacement or repair.
4.2
FALL ARREST CONNECTIONS: The Single Point Anchor is used with a Full Body Harness and Energy-Absorbing Lanyard
or Self-Retracting Device (SRD). Connect the Lanyard or SRD between the anchor eye of the Single Point Anchor and the
dorsal D-Ring on the Harness as described in the User Instructions included with the Lanyard or SRD. Refer to Figure 9A
for Fall Arrest Connections.
4.3
SYSTEM APPLICATIONS: See Figure 9 for system applications of the Single Point Anchor. The Single Point Anchor may
be used as part of a Fall Arrest (A), Work Positioning (B), Rescue (C), or Fall Restraint (D) System. See Section 3.2 for
directions of loading when attaching to the Single Point Anchor.
;
Model 7234109 is the only Single Point Anchor model in these user instructions that is rated for Rescue applications.
Do not use any other model as part of a Rescue System.

INSPECTION FREQUENCY: The Single Point Anchor must be inspected at the intervals defined in Section 1. Inspection
procedures are described in the "Inspection and Maintenance Log" (Table 2). Inspect all other components of the Fall
Protection System per the frequencies and procedures defined in the manufacturer's instructions.
Installations in Masonry: Single Point Anchors installed in masonry must be proof load tested at least once every 12
months. See Section 3.7 for more information.
Through-Hole Installations in Metal: Single Point Anchors used for through-hole installations in metal must be
visually inspected at least once every 12 months for defects in the surrounding metalwork.
5.2
DEFECTS: If inspection reveals an unsafe or defective condition, remove the Single Point Anchor from service
immediately, clearly mark "DO NOT USE", and then either destroy or forward to 3M for replacement or repair.
;
Only 3M or parties authorized in writing by 3M may make repairs to this equipment.
5.3
PRODUCT LIFE: The functional life of your Fall Protection System is determined by work conditions and maintenance. As
long as the product passes inspection criteria, it may remain in service.
