Caution: Ensure the inside of the device is clean, dry, and free from any
foreign objects that may cause skin irritation.
Note: Do not apply lotion to the residual limb immediately before
donning the device. The residual limb should be clean and dry to prevent
device damage.
1. Grip the top of the device from the inside and slide it over the hand
until the inner surface is fully exposed (Fig. 4). Take care not to
damage the device with fingernails.
2. After exposing as much of the distal end of the device as possible,
position it against the distal end of the residual limb (Fig. 5).
Note: Be careful that the pin on the locking liner is positioned
centrally on the distal end of the residual limb (Fig. 7).
3. For a transtibial liner: Bend the knee slightly.
4. With light compression, roll the device all the way upwards onto the
limb (Fig. 6).
Caution: Do not tug or pull the upper end of the liner when rolling the
device upwards onto the limb. This can result in tension on the skin,
causing blisters or rashes.
5. Check that no air pockets are present. If air pockets are found, reapply
the device.
The Iceross Dermo Uniform Locking and Cushion Liners must be
orientated with the external labeling at the front of the residual limb.
For Iceross Activa the TibiaGuard with the wave structure must be
aligned along the front side of the tibia.
Socket Donning
Note: Do not use alcohol spray as a donning aid for a device without a
textile cover (with Easy Glide) as this can destroy the low-friction coating
and reduce device functionality.
Cushion Liner: Use together with a sleeve. Refer to the instructions for
use for the sleeve for correct use.
Step into the socket using body weight to achieve full engagement before
using the sleeve to maintain vacuum suspension.
Locking Liner: Step into the socket using bodyweight to fully engage the
distal attachment into the lock until a secure connection is achieved.
Caution: Ensure that the connection between the distal attachment and
lock is secure and without play.
Cleaning and care
Daily cleaning of the residual limb is essential. Use of a mild, pH
balance, 100% fragrance- and dye-free liquid soap is recommended. If the
skin is dry, apply a pH balance, 100% fragrance- and dye-free lotion to
nourish and soften the skin.
Clean the device daily after use and before first use.
• Turn the device inside out (Fig. 4).
• Wash with pH balanced, 100% fragrance- and dye-free liquid soap.
• After washing, rinse the device thoroughly with warm water (Fig. 8),
and pat dry on both sides with a lint-free cloth.
