Application Type Selection
Application Type Selection
Submersible or Surface Pump (DIP SW1 — Position 6)
Use DIP SW1 Position 6 to select between a submersible or surface (centrifugal) pump.
Select the S S U U B B (DOWN) position for submersible applications.
Select the C C E E N N (UP) position for surface applications.
Induction or Permanent Magnet Motor (DIP SW1 – Position 7)
Use DIP SW 1 Position 7 to select between an induction or Permanent Magnet (MagForce) motor.
Select the I I N N D D (down) position for standard induction motor applications. Then, use DIP SW2 and SW3
groups to select the motor and pump sizes.
Select the P P M M (up) position for MagForce permanent magnet motor applications. Then, use DIP SW2 and
SW3 groups to select the motor and pump sizes.
Submersible Motor and Pump Sizes (DIP SW2 & DIP SW3)
Select a single DIP switch from the SW2 group that corresponds to the motor horsepower being used.
Use the legend printed on the black shield as a guide.
Select a single DIP switch from the SW3 group that corresponds to the pump horsepower being used.
Use the legend printed on the black shield as a guide.
Selecting none or more than one switch in either group will result in an Invalid DIP Switch Fault, indi-
cated by F24 on the display.
Surface Motor Overload Size (DIP SW2 & DIP SW3)
When using a SubDrive in a surface application, and DIP SW1 Position 6 is set to C C E E N N (up), select a sin-
gle DIP switch from the SW2 and SW3 groups that corresponds to an overload current value equal to or
less than the motor nameplate current rating. Use the following table, or the white legend on the shield,
as a guide:
