4. Cleaning and maintenance
4�1 Cleaning
Clean the outside of the Spreader, Lifter or Splitter using a mild degreasing agent and a
cleaning rag.
Pumps, accessories and hoses can also be cleaned using a mild degreasing agent and
cleaning rag.
4�2 Maintenance
15-TL(S), 25-TLS
The wedge between the jaws must be lubricated at regular intervals. Loosen the 4
adjusting screws on the side of the jaws. The jaw can now be opened. Lubricate the
wedge using a universal grease. Install the jaws again in the original position. Screw the
adjusting screws in completely, then back off by half a turn so that the wedge can move
freely between the jaws.
PFS 10T(I)
The PFS 10T(I) requires no additional maintenance.
HLW 18T(I)
The wedge that pushes up the plate must be lubricated at regular intervals. Install the
grease nipple supplied in the uppermost step of the lifting plate. Pump in sufficient
universal grease. Now install the grease nipple supplied on the bottom. Pump in
sufficient universal grease here, too. Remove the grease nipple and install it again in the
handle. Finally, pump some grease into the slot on both sides.
HNS Series
The splitting wedge must be lubricated at regular intervals. Fully extend the wedge and
apply universal grease to the chamber. Allow the wedge to make 2 complete strokes.
Apply grease also to the sides of the wedge.
General:
Lubricate rotating parts of pump:
Lubricate all rotating parts with universal grease.
Changing the hydraulic oil:
This does not apply to models with integrated pump!
The frequency depends on the type of applications and intensity of use. The cylinders
must first be retracted before changing the oil. Next, the reservoir must be drained.
Now rinse out the system with a little oil. Fill it up again with the new hydraulic oil. We
recommend using BETEX® Hydraulic Oil to ensure the correct type is used.
Hoses:
Regularly check the condition of the hoses. Damaged hoses must not be used. Cut it open so
that it is obvious to others that the hose is defective. Damaged hoses cannot be repaired. The
condition of the hose must be checked before every use in flexible operations.
