3. Assembly, installation and commissioning
3�1 Assembly & installation
Applies only to sets and duo sets Models with an integrated pump are immediately ready for
use. In the case of Spreaders, Lifters or Splitters supplied separately, the user must obtain
the appropriate accessories.
1. Remove the packaging and inspect the parts for damage. Contact the transport company
if any of the parts is damaged.
2. If the reservoir of the external pomp comes with two 'caps', remove the 'transportation
cap' and fit the bleeder in its place. The transportation cap is fully sealed and the bleeder
has a filter.
3. Connect the pump to the Spreader, Lifter or Splitter by means of the hose supplied.
4. Connect the pressure gauge to the appropriate port.
5. Ensure that all the couplings are properly tightened.
6. Bleed the system before using for the first time. Air in the system will make its way up
to the pump and exit via the reservoir if the pump is placed higher than the accessories.
We recommend that the cylinder(s) be allowed to perform at least 4 complete strokes in
order to remove all the air from the system.
7. The pumps are fitted with a valve that has to be closed in order to build up pressure. In
the closed position, the valve also prevents the hydraulic oil flowing back to the reservoir.
The valve must be open in order to retract the cylinders. Please note! The valve should
be opened very carefully when the cylinder is under pressure in order to prevent
personal injury or damage to equipment!
3�2 Models with integrated pump
Models with integrated pump are immediately ready for use. Depending on the model, it may
be necessary to still fit the lever. Tighten the lever finger-tight.
Turn the valve to the right (clockwise direction) in order to extend the cylinder. The cylinder
extends as soon as the lever is moved up and down.
Turn the valve to the left (anti-clockwise direction) in order to retract the cylinder. Please
note! The valve should be opened very carefully when the cylinder is under pressure in order
to prevent personal injury or damage to equipment!
